Work, work, work!

The past week has truly put the "study" into "study abroad" for me, as I find that managing my own schedule in order to stay on top of work for my classes is way more difficult than just getting assignments. I mean, it frees up way more time to do things I love, as I suffer no penalty for not reading, but that makes it all the more difficult to actually read my books and do my work. Like, I know that there's opportunity cost to every action we take, but it's on a whole other level when it's shoved in your face. Still, I am managing to read my books and do a few optional assignments to make sure I understand what is going on.
To make matters worse, I just took up a position as Dungeon Master in a huge campaign with the Gaming Society. I showed up last Friday with a bunch of Dungeons and Dragons stuff to showcase that I'm looking for players but before I knew it, I was scheduled to run the first session in a week with a party of eight people! With so much work, it was a stressful week, but I managed to get it together in time for this Friday.
Most of it was spent making characters and I had a bunch of help from the society president, but it went well and everyone had fun. Now I just have to find a time everyone can actually meet to play. Hooray.
Despite all the trials of this week, I did manage to find some time to have fun with friends today. We went to Battersea Power Station, a huge strip mall built in an old power station. It looks like Willy Wonka's factory with all the crazy buildings around it!

To be honest, it really made me nostalgic for Ala Moana mall, and my friends back in Hawaii. One of them is graduating this semester and I'm pretty sad I'll be missing it. To make it up to him, I've agreed to get him a really good graduation gift while I'm here. I'll probably do this when I go to Oban in a few weeks. I can't wait to return to Scotland after so many years!
