The Home Stretch

It has occurred to me this week just how quickly the end of my study abroad is coming. I have less than two weeks and one week from today is when I plan to have one of my final assessments completed. I really should get cracking on that one, since I still have some reading to do for it. The reason I haven't really been working on it though is because I have a final project tomorrow for my sustainability class!

Dr. Beilman was fairly loose with what the project had to be, just that it had to be a 5-6 minute presentation that talked on some aspect of Urban Sustainability that we had discussed. I chose to discuss the idea of floating homes that we had heard about in a paper we read back in November and whether or not they could be used in Hawaii. I spent basically the entire weekend researching viable locations, how the houses are designed, potential insurers and whether or not this is a viable solution that could be implemented in Honolulu. It's been tiring, but honestly really fun.

On a more somber note, I had to bid goodbye to the church I had been attending on Sunday as I will be in Prague this Sunday. I decided to start attending an Anglican church in Roehampton when I arrived in London in order to more immerse myself in English culture as well as further my own walk with Christ and I can honestly say that they have been so welcoming and kind. I made friends as much as there as I did at karaoke night or at Gaming Society and I will miss them.

Honestly, a lot got done this week besides my projects; I have a lease with Hale Mahana waiting to be signed, so I have housing for next semester and I finalized my plans for Prague with my friend. We will be staying at her friend's house, so no hotel costs (hopefully, she said she's feeling ill today!)

The next post will definitely have pictures of my time in Prague. Hopefully I remember as I write up my final assessments in the UK!
