Dover, Time Management and Cheap Groceries

So much has happened in this past week, it is honestly hard to fathom that it has been a week. Where to start?
Last week, the social program I was enrolled into at the start of the semester went to Dover, the closest city in England to France. It's so close, my phone accidentally switched to the French time zone, and I thought I had missed my bus to take us from the White Cliffs to Dover Castle. Both of them were incredible, and I was able to get a nifty souvenir for my brother. See you at Christmas, bro!

I feel like I'm finally starting to get the hang of my classes, too! It is still, rather unfortunately, a lot of reading, and I have to manage my reading schedule by myself. Blergh. I honestly can say I am NOT a fan of the whole "self-paced learning" thing. I don't know if I'm doing well in the class until the end of the semester, and it is seriously making it very hard to enjoy myself. Thankfully, the professors here are super helpful. Any question I have for them, they are usually able to answer and they're very accommodating to any issues I might have. Like how on Thursday, I had to leave a class early in order to meet with the head of the Study Abroad Program (I think) Dr. Rai, so I emailed my professor for that class. He responded within 5 minutes with a two word answer of "that's fine", which actually made me laugh, as it reminded me of how my dad communicates.
While I have found that the British style of teaching is difficult for me, groceries has honestly been a high point. In terms of food, I have figured out to avoid eating at restaurants very frequently and instead buy as many groceries as I can. Just today, I got a weeks worth of groceries for around 36 Pound Sterling, or around $47. While part of this is helped by the large amounts of groceries I bought in the first two weeks, I could seriously get used to buying food for this cheap. To top it all off, it's not bad food either; this haul was all fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and bread that I can cook into delicious meals! Everything a stressed out college student needs!
