My first week living at the University of Roehampton is coming to an end, and it has been one heck of an experience.

Before classes start on Monday, we basically had a free week (called "Freshers Week" by the University) to explore the city, the college, and to really get situated in our new home. Roehampton put on plenty of exciting events for us and the other students to attend such as mixers, karaoke, and a society showcase to see what communities we could join around the University of Roehampton. I am particularly interested in the gaming society and boxing society, but we'll see how things look schedule-wise before I commit.

In the meantime, I also enjoyed a few activities put on by my study abroad crew as well as outings that I planned myself.

On Sunday, the study abroad team and I went to Greenwich for afternoon tea and to see the sights. I honestly really want to return to Greenwich, as it is full of all kinds of historic sites like the Royal Observatory and the National Maritime Museum. Monday was mostly getting groceries and getting more dorm more situated, so not much to report, but I went into London alone on Tuesday for afternoon tea, a walk through Hyde Park and to see Piccadilly Circus. My uncle told me Piccadilly Circus had artisan goods like the Colorado Renaissance Fair, but from what I saw he was WRONG.

Wednesday was another rest day, apart from going to karaoke night at the Union Bar. I arrived a bit too late to sing anything, but it was fun getting to mix with and meet new people. Thursday was honestly the biggest day, as some friends and I visited the British Museum which was WAY bigger than any of us thought. We got through maybe seven of the supposed dozens of rooms within the British Museum and saw artifacts from all over the world, including beloved Hawai'i!

Finally, on Friday we went to a women's soccer match between Chelsea and Crystal Palace. For the Crystal Palace Eagles, this was their christening game into the British National League and was therefore the game was incredibly important to them and their fans. They lost seven to nothing. Ouch.
